Farewell Friends!

Well, this is it!! I enter the MTC tomorrow at 1:10. I am so excited for this amazing opportunity to serve the Lord for two years in Alabama! I am thankful to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far. I won't see you all for two years, but I know that those two years will fly by.

My family has set up this blog so that they can post my weekly letters and pictures from the mission. I hope you read it. And I hope that I hear from some of you via mail too. A missionary can never get too many letters :) My parents should update my mailing address on this blog so that its always available. Also, my mission president has set up a blog (alabamamissionupdate.blogspot.com) on which he regularly posts pictures and information on the missionaries.

But, more important than getting frequent letters, I know this gospel is true. I have made the decision to go on a mission because I know that the sweet spirit the gospel brings can change minds and lift hearts. I am thankful for the guiding force the gospel can be in our lives.

I love you, and hope to hear from you all!

Your friend,

Elder Madsen

My Farewell Talk

For those of you who wanted a copy of my farewell talk, you can read it at this URL

Called to Serve

Hi, I'm Coleman Madsen, and I've been called to serve an LDS Mission in Birmingham Alabama for the next two years of my life! I report to the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center) on June 27th, just over a week and a half. This blog is where my family will post my e-mails to them and updates to how I'm doing.
